PhD Student Recognised at HKBU Research Excellence Awards PhD Student Recognised at HKBU Research Excellence Awards

We’re proud to share that our PhD student Li Zixi was named 1st Runner-Up at the Madam Kwok Chung Bo Fun PhD Student Research Excellence Awards 2025/26. The ceremony recognised six outstanding researchers for their significant contributions, demonstrated through high-impact publications and compelling presentations.

Through her project, Communication Research for Social Good: Shaping Behavior and Public Decision‑Making, Li Zixi explored how communication research can advance social good by examining its impact across three key domains: environmental communication (fighting climate change), health communication (promoting health behaviours), and communication technology (mapping AI adoption).

Her findings offered both theoretical insights and practical strategies for leveraging communication to build a better, more informed society. Zixi's research reflected the depth and diversity of HKBU’s research community, addressing global challenges with insight, perseverance, and purpose.

Once again, let’s give a big round of applause to Zixi. Huge thanks to her supervisor, Professor Jingyuan Jolie Shi , Associate Professor in the Department of Interactive Media, for her incredible mentorship and support!
